What’s new for 2017 Wedding dresses

Vicky from Victoria’s Bridal Boutique tells us all about her trip to Harrogate to see the 2017 wedding dress collections.

So it’s one of my favourite times of year when I get to pack up my car and head up to Harrogate to see the new collections of dresses……and what a wonderful weekend it was.

With my mum on my arm to give her opinion, share a glass (or two) of bubbly and to stop me getting carried away and buying every dress I see, I go to seek out new styles, talk to the designers and find something a little different.

Ladies you have a lot to look forward to for 2017, elegant laces, stunning silhouettes, separates and beautiful Boho, what more could you want?

Well….Stella York have brought out a fabulous fuller figure range ‘Every Body, Every Bride’ starting from a size 20 and going to a size 30 there really is a dress for every size/style and shape. Along with their core collection they have ventured in to new fabrics and colours, ruffles and jaw dropping backs with beautiful crystal buttons.

Sorella Vita’s new colour palette has excelled my expectations, taking in what brides want they have brought out soft vintage tulles with fit and flare skirts, new cross straps and twist wrap dresses and of course some new modern metallic dresses.

Maggie Sottero as always never lets me down, sticking to what they do best. They have created a fantastic range of dresses that are designed to fit a woman in all the right places, creating curves and providing support so you can dance the night away. Their new range Rebecca Imgram is just WOW taking the ‘Maggie’ label in a new direction.  Full of romance and lace, soft silhouettes, pastel colours and all at an amazing price- fab!   They have also added to the collection a special gift to the first 10 brides that book in to try on the dresses.

In between all these gorgeous gowns we look at veils, bags, shoes, garters and all the other necessities brides will need on their big day. We found a wonderful company that specialise in seamless underwear, which is a must for some of the figure hugging dresses that are coming in for 2017. Shoe stoppers to stop any trips and to help walk on decking and gravel, amazing extra skirts to give your dress extra fullness or even two completely different looks from day to evening, so you can be a princess and a mermaid all at the same time (why can’t we dress like this everyday)!

A fantastic weekend was had by all.

When you walk into a bridal shop and try on 10 dresses in a hour it can all end up being very confusing and as I like to say leaves you with ‘Ivory blur’. So imagine seeing over 200 dresses and having to narrow it down to 30, we can’t try them on and sometimes we don’t even get to see them on, as they are on mannequins or hanging on a rail. It’s such an important job to make sure I have dresses that you will like and I take my job very seriously even if it means I sit up to the early hours flicking through my notes and scanning pictures to remind myself of what caught my eye.

I can’t wait for them to arrive so all you lovely brides can come and try them on, keep your eyes on our Facebook and website for delivery dates.

See you soon xx
